SMOKE OUT, INC. TO HOST SMOKE OUT DAY FOLLOWING COMMUNITY FIRES

BOSTON, MA—Smoke Out, Inc. is hosting a Smoke Out Day to help raise awareness about recent house fires in the area and emphasize the importance of using smoke alarms to stay prepared. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2025 at Oak Tree Elementary School from 6:00–9:00 p.m.

A silent auction will take place to raise funds for families impacted by recent fires in the Oak Tree community. Appearances will include Sparky the Fire Dog, Smokey the Bear, and a surprise celebrity guest. The first 50 people who come to Smoke Out Day will receive a free smoke detector. Those who arrive after the first 50 people will have the opportunity to purchase smoke detectors from Smoke Out, Inc. The company will offer light refreshments to those who attend Smoke Out Day.

Various presentations will help people be better prepared in the case of fire. The topics will include:

  • Fire Safety
  • Planning a Fire Escape Route
  • Protecting Your Home and Family

The local fire department will bring a firetruck to the event. Fire Chief Ramirez and his family plan to be at Smoke Out Day. He is hoping that the community will participate in the event because it is “too important to miss.”

Lee Williams, President of Smoke Out, Inc., said, “Smoke detectors save lives...period. We live in this community too and it breaks my heart that neighbors have lost loved ones, homes, and precious possessions unnecessarily. That’s why we’re holding this event—to try to keep it from happening to anyone else.”
